Steve Carpenter

The team at Profile Electrical recently installed a new heat pump into our home. They were friendly and professional to deal with right from providing advice as to the best heat pump for our home and the best location for it, through to the install which was completed in less than a day with no fuss. A month on I am extremely happy with all aspects of the heat pump and the warmth it is currently providing us.

FAQ

What is a Back to Back installation?

A Back to Back installation is where the indoor unit is installed on an exterior wall and the outdoor unit is also installed directly behind/below it outside.

Will having a heat pump save me money?

Yes, having a heat pump will save you money in comparison to alternative forms of heating. Heat Pumps are the most efficient form of heating and cooling. Yes they still will use power but the kilowatt input (power) is a lot less to the kilowatt output ie. GE25 (Heating) Power input 0.73kW output 3.2kW of heating power.

What size heat pump do i need?

Depends on a number of factors ie, Room size, number of windows, insulation, open plan. These all contribute to the sizing of the unit. If the unit is under sized it will be working a lot harder to Heat/Cool making the unit run un-efficiently. Over sized unit will cause the unit to Short Cycle ie Unit will work more like a thermostat rather than the power efficient Inverter mode.

How long does it take to install?

A Basic back to back installation we tend to allow 4 hours for the install. This also includes all electrical required too. Anything over a back to back installation is best to contact us.

Will a heatpump help dry my house?

Yes, Heat Pumps will help dry out your house. Heating output is a dry warm air that doesn’t produce moisture like gas forms of heating.
